Garlic-Onion-Beet-Spinach-Mango-Carrot-Grapefruit Juice by Nathalie VanBalen, available at the author’s website, www.thorathinks.com, is a super-cool, beautifully done picture book that teaches kids about juicing and compassion towards our fellow creatures in an age appropriate way. With bright colors, fun stuffed animals characters and colorful phrases, this book is really cool, fresh and modern. Kids, including my 4-year old son, really love it. This book is one of a select few that I highly recommend to vegan and vegetarian children and to any parents and children seeking to live a healthier more compassionate life. It would make a great gift for any child. Nathalie’s handmade stuffed animals would make a great huggable addition to the book.

Making healthy food appealing to kids is a common challenge every parents faces. Simply serving food on an appealing plate is just one way to encourage picky eaters to love their vegetables. How cute is this tee? I found it at an awesome website called Autonomie Project, a store that sells fair trade clothing. All their stuff is organic, sweatshop-free and vegan. I think this tee is super-cute and sends a great message to kids, encouraging them to eat their vegetables in cool, fun way, while promoting peace and compassion. I’m ordering one for William for Christmas!
